Urgent care without the ED chaos… but still enough variety to keep it interesting? Tired of bouncing between low-severity GP work and full-blown ED pressure? What if you could sit somewhere in the middle, with support around you and a scope that actually makes sense? About the Clinic You’ll be working in a dedicated Urgent Care Clinic, not a GP clinic trying to absorb overflow. It runs 7 days, 8am to 10pm, so you can pick shifts that actually fit around your week. Nursing support is always on, which means you’re not chasing obs, dressings, or paperwork yourself. You stay focused on clinical decisions. The case mix is consistent. Generally category 4–5 presentations, so you keep variety without the pressure of high acuity work. On-site doctor parking is reserved, so you’re not wasting time at the start or end of your shift. What You’ll Be Doing Managing urgent care presentations within Category 4–5 scope Treating acute, non-life-threatening conditions Working alongside nurses to keep patient flow steady Making clear calls on treatment, discharge, or escalation What You Need FRACGP or FACRRM with Specialist Registration Experience in ED or urgent care settings Confidence managing acute presentations independently Willingness to commit to regular shifts This is a flexible urgent care role in Townsville with strong hourly rates, defined scope, and proper support.
